- Plumbum – Diarrhoea with black stool, pulling at Naval. Cutting pain radiating to whole body with violence spasms exhorting cries.
- Veratrum – Pinching colic. Violent thirst. Big evacuations. Great abundance of cold sweat)
- Liver affection, craving icy drinks and haemorrhage will make you think of Phosphorous which is its complementary remedy.

- Related to Mercury- the tenesmus in Mercury ceases after stool while in leptandra the colic around navel is reduced after stool but persists
- In nitric acid the haemorrhage is bright red in typhoid while in leptandra it is Tarry)
Think of this remedy in typhoid, etc with great weakness, black stools and desire for icy cold drinks. You will think of PHOS and BAPTISIA)
