About
The Initiation
Based in Bangalore, I am presently working as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with Govt of India.
I was introduced to homoeopathy as a child, when my mother would take us to a homeopath for any ailment that we had. Belonging herself to a family of doctors she was a sceptic who experienced the power of small pills. As the luck would have it, one of her own, that is me, decided to be a homoeopath, influenced by an article in my early formative years.
My Journey
After five and a half grinding years in Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College I graduated and then worked as resident for another 6 months in the same hospital. Still struggling to grasp some tenets of homoeopathy I decided to pursue MD and by the blessings of almighty cracked entrance making it to the top of the exam. Stepping into one of the premier institutes of homoeopathy National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH, Kolkata) was like a dream. As was the custom since its inception the toppers took Materia as their specialty, which I refused. I was there to unearth the secrets of homeopathy, the power of that dose which were told often in anecdotes in colleges around India. I opted Organon of Medicine as my specialty under Prof Dr L M Khan and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I was blessed to have Prof Dr Sumendu Adhikari as my PG thesis guide. It was under these stalwarts that I began my journey into the world of classical homeopathy.
As time passed, the beauty of Organon started unfolding before me.
Finally, after completing MD in 2006 with flying colours, I got into private practice for about a couple of months. Thereafter, I was selected through UPSC and inducted in CGHS MOFFW, Govt of India as a medical officer.
During MD I worked as co-editor of a homeopathic magazine “Homeobuzz”, which was published from Delhi, and later coauthored a book on vegetarianism.
I also pursued Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Hospital Management (PGDHHM) from IGNOU and Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics from National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore while in service.
Practicing for 14 years now, I have realized that I am still learning something every day. My patients have become my teachers, my friends Dr. Varsha M Khurana my inspiration and Dr. Nitesh Jain my friend, philosopher, guide. I learn from them every day without fail and for which I am ever indebted to them.
My family is my anchor, it is for them that I strive to be better than what I am today.
Last but not the least, if it was not for Dr V. K. Chauhan, Dr Tapan Das, Dr Mukhtinder Singh, Dr M. A , Rao and Dr Preetha K., who have been my teachers, guides and seniors, I would not be standing where I am today.
My Goals
As the time passed, I realized that to be a good homeopath one needs be conversant not only in medicine and homoeopathic concepts but also be aware about a plethora of diverse subjects. It is only through this kaleidoscope that we can understand those who trust us with their care. Therefore, I decided to share what I know and my experiences with those interested in learning, through this website, with fellow practitioners and students of homeopathy.
I also aim to reach out to those patients who seek help in homeopathy providing information and guidance to them on various subjects.
